BHPian rahulraag recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Starting with the cons-and I know this might sound repetitive:Ride Quality:I have to agree with other owners who’ve raised concerns. I’ve been in the driver’s seat 100% of the time, and I can definitely feel vibrations inside the cabin. Interestingly, none of the passengers have complained-especially my daughter, who insists I’m just biased against the car. The extended family seems to share her view, probably due to the “new car glow.” What surprised me was that two friends visiting (one of whom drives a Mercedes GLC) thought I was being too harsh. Possibly because I had warned them so much about the ride that they got in expecting the worst and found it tolerable. They’ve often reminded me not to take everything I see on forums or YouTube too seriously, and to focus more on real-world experiences insteadNVH Levels:Pretty much in line with what’s already been shared. If the music is off, you hear everything-even the tires turning. And oddly, when you step out of the car, you can hear the music more clearly from outside than you can from inside.Air Conditioning:It’s been a relatively cool and rainy week in Bangalore, but even so, the ‘Auto’ mode has underwhelmed. Even at night, set to 22.5C, I’ve found myself sweating at times. A quick manual fan blast fixes it. The real test will come when I use the car in Kerala during peak summer. Some Challenges:Charging:I haven’t installed the 7.2 kW home charger yet due to layout issues in my society and the need for about 50-60 meters of cabling. For now, I’m relying on a Zeon 7.2 kW MG-installed charger at my sister’s apartment complex next door for emergencies and otherwise using DC fast chargers in nearby malls. Being new to this, I’ve had to call Glida customer support almost every time to get charging started. One annoying quirk: the car connects to Bluetooth while I’m on the call-even when it’s turned off and locked-which interrupts the support call. I probably need to disable the auto-unlock based on proximity. At a Zeon charger, again had to call the Customer Support as the charging wouldn’t start, was advised to take out the charging gun, start the car, move it a little and then try the charging process again – that worked.Switching Between Cars:This has led to some comic moments. Once, I moved the wiper stalk on my Tucson into the “reverse” position and waited for the car to crawl backward. On other occasions, I’ve tried to lock the car and walk away without turning it off. Still adjusting! What Everyone Likes:Cabin Space & Comfort:Everyone who’s sat in the car has commented on how airy and spacious the cabin feels. It looks compact from the outside, but there’s surprisingly generous legroom. The boot is spacious too-I did an airport run with two large and two cabin-sized trolleys, and the boot swallowed them all with the rear seats fully reclined.Cost of Running:This is a huge plus. I’ve spent 1,300 on charging over 500 km, and there’s still about 300 km left in the battery. Of course, it came fully charged at delivery, but I expect the cost per km to drop further once I start using the 7.2 kW charger more regularly (which would cost about half as much as public DC fast charging).360-Degree Camera:I never had this feature in my previous cars, and I’ve grown to really like it-though I still don’t fully trust the guidelines. The car indicates that I won’t hit an obstacle, but I usually back up just a bit more to be safe. That said, in tight spots where I did rely on the system, it performed flawlessly. On the other hand, there are quirks – the front cameras without sensors were practically useless during a heavy downpour at night. I couldn’t make sense of what was being shown on the screen. To make matters worse, water pouring from the sliding roof was picked up by the rear sensor as a potential obstruction. I ended up stepping out into the rain just to confirm I wasn’t about to back into something that wasn’t visible in any of the mirrors-or through the now-blurred camera feed.Final Thoughts:I’ve got a road trip coming up next week, which should give me more insight into long-distance comfort and range. But for now, no regrets. Some teething issues, yes-but overall, a positive start to EV ownership. Might just end up being a perfect fit for what we got it for in the first place-dropping my daughter to school.Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
