Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) senior leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has criticised the Congress protest in Delhi demanding 42% reservation for the Backward Classes (BCs), calling it an insincere attempt. He also termed the protest a ‘flop show’ with neither Rahul Gandhi nor Mallikarjun Kharge attending.
He also added that the protest exposed the Congress’s indifference towards BCs and a lack of public trust in Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
In a statement, Mr. Rao also highlighted contradictions within the Congress narrative, noting that while Mr. Revanth Reddy emphasised the demand for 42% BC quota is specific to Telangana, Mr. Rahul Gandhi tweeted that the struggle is for the entire nation. “The mismatch speaks volumes about their sincerity,” he said, adding that people are noticing the Congress’s double standards.
