The Ministry of Railways has approved a new railway station at Bhupalpally and a bus stand near Kazipet railway station. The assurance came from Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw when Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya met him with a representation on the railway station.
She highlighted the need for a railway station and line connecting Bhupalpally to Warangal, Kazipet, and Jammikunta. This aspirational district, home to Singareni Collieries and TGGenco, relies on trucks for coal transport, causing accidents, pollution, and road damage, she said. The Ministry has directed South Central Railway to conduct a feasibility study for the Bhupalpally project, with a detailed report expected within six months. Concurrently, a bus stand on railway land near Kazipet Station, a key junction contributing 48.6% of SCR’s earnings, has been greenlit.
The new railway infrastructure will streamline freight, reduce costs, and boost passenger connectivity, fostering economic growth. The assurance is a big victory for Legislators Naini Rajender Reddy, Kadiyam Srihari, KR Nagaraju, Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, and MLC Baswaraju Sarayya, she said.
The approvals have revived calls for a Kazipet railway division to de-congest Secunderabad, supported by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. “These projects will transform travel and trade,” said Dr. Kavya.
