GHMC launches new digital services to boost transparency, efficiency


GHMC has launched new tech-driven services, including online tax payment, e-waste pickup, mosquito fogging requests, and asset mapping, via the MyGHMC app to make civic services faster, transparent, and citizen-friendly in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: To streamline civic services and make processes more transparent and efficient through digital platforms, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Saturday released certain initiatives.

Property owners can now access various online services, including property tax payments, building permissions, and grievance redressal.

Officials said the integration of technology was part of the efforts to enhance urban management and ensure accountability. Additional Commissioner, Revenue & IT, Anuraag Jayanthi, said the aim was to make GHMC a role model for other cities in redefining urban governance with its innovative, citizen-centric initiatives under its IT Wing.

Services with smart tech-solutions via MyGHMC App:

* E-Waste pickup booking: An online platform allows doorstep collection of electronic waste, promoting eco-friendly disposal

* Fogging service: A dedicated system enables citizens to request mosquito fogging and address health concerns swiftly

* WhatsApp for complaints: Allows reporting of garbage and C&D waste dumping for prompt action

* Geo-Tagged tracking of Anti-larval operations: Field inspections monitored with geo-tagged photos, enhancing accountability

* Comprehensive challan management system: An internal tool for officers to manage sanitation challans, improve operational efficiency

* AI-Based facial attendance: Ensures accurate, contactless attendance for Head Office employees.

* GIS mapping of GHMC assets: To map assets like parks, toilets, and streetlights for better urban planning.
