India Must Act Against Gaza Genocide: Owaisi

Hyderabad: Hyderabad MP and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi appealed to the Indian government to take a strong stand against the alleged genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza. During the Lok Sabha Zero Hour, he said that he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging urgent steps to prevent famine and halt Israel’s alleged atrocities.

Owaisi underscored India’s obligations as a signatory to the Genocide Convention, calling on the government to prevent complicity in these crimes. He urged humanitarian actions, including building healthcare infrastructure in Gaza and offering scholarships and refuge to Palestinians in need.

Expressing frustration at the government’s silence, Owaisi questioned why India has not vocally opposed the ongoing genocide, emphasising that the Prime Minister’s commitment to international peace, such as on the Ukraine conflict, should also extend to Gaza.

He demonstrated these techniques through practical activities designed for effective classroom teaching.

Dr Shaikh Waseem, associate professor at the Directorate of Distance Education, noted that teaching is most effective when aligned with students’ intellectual capacity and interests, noting genuine curiosity as vital for learning. The session included inputs from Mohammad Basheeruddin, deputy inspector of schools, Golconda Mandal, Mohammad Iftikharuddin, headmaster of Government Boys High School, Goshamahal and several teachers. Participants collaborated on a “mind map” group task that received praise.
