The upcoming Hindi fantasy film Thama – World of Thamadirected by Aditya Sarpotdar, is creating buzz for its fresh take on the vampire-versus-werewolf concept. Headlined by Varun Dhawan and Ayushmann Khurrana, the film promises high drama and big-screen spectacle.
Its 1.50-minute teaser will be attached to two major releases — War 2 on August 14, 2025, and Param Sundari — ensuring maximum nationwide visibility. Producer Dinesh Vijan is working closely with exhibitors to give the film a blockbuster launch.
Expectations are high, especially after Vijan’s Stree 2 earned over ₹500 crore last year, reinforcing the commercial strength of his horror-comedy universe. Thama also features Rashmika Mandanna in a pivotal role, adding star power to the fantasy drama.
Industry insiders believe Thama could be a game-changer and Bollywood’s first major vampire film with A-list talent. However, Bollywood’s history with horror and fantasy has been inconsistent, with several big projects failing to live up to the hype.
By attaching the teaser to major franchise films, the marketing ensures attention, but the ultimate success will depend on the execution. If Aditya Sarpotdar and Dinesh Vijan manage to blend high-concept fantasy with rooted Indian storytelling, Thama could mark a turning point for Indian supernatural cinema. Otherwise, it risks being remembered as another missed opportunity.
