KTR urges BRS cadre to step up flood relief efforts

Hyderabad: With several parts of Telangana reeling under heavy rains and flooding, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday called on party leaders and cadres to actively assist affected communities, particularly in erstwhile Warangal, Khammam, and Mahabubabad districts, which are already bearing the brunt.

He urged BRS ranks to treat relief work as their moral responsibility and also as the main opposition party. Expressing concern over the plight of people in low-lying areas, Rama Rao said the Congress government had failed on all fronts and emphasised the need for the BRS cadre to come to the rescue of the needy.

He directed the party cadre to immediately provide essentials like drinking water, milk, food, medicines, and clothing to flood-hit families. He wanted them to coordinate with local officials to set up medical camps for emergency care, besides taking part in relief and rescue activities.

Citing the Meteorological Department’s forecast of continued heavy rains over the next three days, the BRS working president urged people to stay indoors unless necessary and to move vulnerable residents to safer locations. He cautioned against entering areas where flood waters had stagnated.

He spoke to party leaders in the worst-affected districts, urging them to lead relief operations on the ground. “In this difficult time, BRS will stand firmly with the people,” he said, calling on citizens to remain vigilant and courageous.
