Hyderabad:The body of an unidentified man, suspected to have been washed away in the recent rains, was found floating in the Musi River at Upparpally in Rajendranagar on Friday night.
Police said the deceased, aged around 35-40 years, was spotted by a local resident who alerted authorities. With the help of DRF personnel, the body was retrieved near Kismatpur village.
“There were no visible injuries, but the body was in a decomposed state. As the area has been flooded for the past few days, we suspect he was washed away and carried into the river,” said Rajendranagar SI Kishore.
The body was shifted to Osmania Hospital for postmortem examination. DNA samples were collected for identification, and police are circulating photographs to trace his family.
A case of suspicious death has been registered. CCTV footage and technical evidence are being examined to establish the circumstances. Investigation is underway.
