Pushpa Fame Dhanunjay Stars in Historical EPIC HALAGALI

Renowned Kannada actor Dhananjay has joined hands with director Sukesh DK for a high-octane, Pan-World cinematic spectacle titled Halagali. Produced by Kalyan Chakravarthy Dhoolipalla under the Duhar Movies banner, this ambitious project is being mounted on a grand scale, unfolding across two parts and spanning five languages—Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. Halagali brings to the fore the untold saga of the Bedar community, known for their fierce guerrilla warfare against British colonial forces. Set against the backdrop of resistance and rebellion, the film promises to be a gripping historical epic rooted in valor and legacy.

The makers recently unveiled the first look poster, creating a striking impression with Dhananjay in a commanding and intense avatar. The title for the first part reads: “Battle For The Weapons”, setting the tone for a fierce narrative of resistance. Accompanying the poster, the teaser has also been released, offering a powerful glimpse into the film’s premise. Dhananjay is seen portraying a revolutionary leader, fearlessly challenging British rule. In a climactic moment, he hurls a spear at the British flag, which falls to the ground—revealing his face in a scene that leaves a lasting impact.

The teaser builds strong elevations around Dhananjay’s character, portraying him as a fierce patriot and a symbol of resistance. The actor underwent a complete physical transformation for the role, bringing authenticity and intensity to his performance.

The visuals are visually stunning, matched by an electrifying background score that heightens the emotional and dramatic stakes. With world-class production values, Halagali is poised to make a powerful statement in Indian cinema, shedding light on a lesser-known chapter of history with cinematic brilliance. The teaser has definitely set high expectations for the movie.

For Dhananjay, this project is personal. “History has always fascinated me, but Halagali is special because it’s about our soil, our people, and their courage. Playing a warrior who fought for freedom is both an honour and a responsibility,” he shares. His first look captures that spirit—a bare-chested warrior, scarred yet fierce, clad in traditional gear and gripping a battle axe, standing strong as muskets are aimed at him while his comrades rally behind.

Producer Kalyan Chakravarthy, who has previously distributed over 20 Kannada and Telugu films, sees Halagali as a story that can travel the globe. “The Kannada industry may be small, but films like KGF have proved that strong stories rooted in our culture can reach the world. We want Halagali to do the same, to showcase the spirit of Karnataka’s warriors,” he explains.

The film promises authenticity with massive village sets, painstakingly designed costumes, and traditions recreated with precision. Music is by Vasuki Vaibhav, while National Award-winning stunt director Vikram Mor, famed for KGF, handles the action. Sapthami Gowda plays a pivotal role, and with more than half of the shoot already completed across specially chosen locations, Halagali is shaping up to be a grand spectacle.

Meanwhile, Dhananjay’s calendar is bustling. Along with Halagali, he has Anna From Mexico directed by Shankar Guru, Uttarakaanda with Rohit Padaki, 666 Operation Dream Theatre with Hemanth M Rao, and Jingo directed by Shashank Sohgal, keeping him one of the busiest actors in the industry today.
