Telangana Weather August 19 | Orange alert in three districts, five under yellow

Three districts of Telangana were forecast to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places on Tuesday (August 19, 2025); Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad and Mancherial districts were placed under orange alert by India Meteorological Department (IMD). 

And, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Medak, Kamareddy. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely at isolated places in all districts.

Hyderabad and its surrounding areas

Moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) were forecast as very likely in Hyderabad and surrounding areas over the next 24 hours, according to IMD’s bulletin issued on Monday evening.

From Sunday to Monday morning, the highest rainfall of 232.2 mm was recorded in Wargal of Siddipet, according to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) report. Extremely Heavy (>204.4mm) was recorded in three mandals and very heavy (115.6 to 204.4mm) in 30 mandals.
