Travis Kelce’s Message for Patrick Mahomes’ Wife Draws Attention originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
As it turns out, Brittany Mahomes, the wife of two-time All-Pro quarterback Patrick Mahomes, played a pivotal role in the Kansas City Chiefs’ championship quest last season.
In a recent ESPN interview, the Chiefs QB revealed that his wife had told him earlier in the campaign that they “needed to get” the playoff bye week in order for the team’s schedule to coincide with the birth of their third child. As Brittany Mahomes instructed, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs were able to secure the bye week by finishing the regular season with an AFC-best 15-2 record.
This allowed the two-time regular-season MVP to be present for the birth of their daughter, Golden Raye, on Jan. 12. In the ESPN interview, the six-time Pro Bowl QB also expressed how proud he was of his wife. “Brittany crushed it,” he said.
Travis Kelce Sends a Message to Brittany Mahomes
According to Patrick Mahomes, the birth of their daughter went smoothly. In fact, Brittany Mahomes had already given birth even before her husband was able to finish watching the playoff game he was tuned into during the delivery.
Travis Kelce caught wind of his teammates’ incredible birth story, and the Chiefs tight end just had to react. Kelce had just two words for Brittany Mahomes.
“🗣️YEAH BRITT!! 🙌🏻💪🏻” he wrote on Instagram.

Kelce’s comment quickly drew the attention of social media users. As of writing, the two-word reaction already has over 1,600 likes in two hours. Clearly, fans appreciate Kelce’s show of support for his teammate’s wife.
One Final Run?
After opting to shun retirement in the offseason, Kelce will now be entering his 13th NFL season. Mahomes, on the other hand, is heading into his ninth year. Mahomes has played alongside Kelce throughout his eight-year NFL career, and the same will be the case in 2025.
This year, however, could potentially be their last dance. Kelce’s current contract will expire at the end of the season, and at this point, it remains unclear if the 35-year-old will sign an extension beyond 2025. Kelce came agonizingly close to calling time on his career during the offseason, and there has been speculation that he’s opted to return for one final run.
Mahomes and Kelce have won three Super Bowls together. They will be aiming for their fourth this season in what could very well be the last time fans get to witness one of the greatest partnerships in the history of the NFL.
