After the massive success of Love Today and Dragon, Pradeep Ranganathan is now leading two projects. He stars in Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) directed by Vignesh Shivan, and Dude, directed by debutant Keerthiswaran. Both films have been competing for a Diwali release slot.
The makers of LIK have officially confirmed that the film will release this Diwali. They also announced that its teaser will be out on August 27th as a Vinayagar Chathurthi special. This clears long-standing doubts after multiple delays in the project’s schedule.
Meanwhile, the Dude team had earlier declared a Diwali release. But with LIK now locking the festive date, industry buzz suggests that Dude will most likely be postponed to a later date. Fans are waiting for clarity from Mythri Movie Makers.
This is not the first time Mythri Movie Makers faced a festival release setback. After Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly missed its slot, their Kollywood project Dude seems headed for the same fate. It would have been their second festival outing in Tamil cinema.
Fans on social media say that Pradeep Ranganathan is at the peak of his career and LIK’s success is crucial. With reports of its high budget, they urge Vignesh Shivan to deliver a solid film. For now, all eyes are on this Diwali clash.
As of now, the Dude team has not issued an official update. It remains to be seen whether the film will announce a new release date and if LIK will strengthen Pradeep Ranganathan’s success streak at the box office.
