It’s definitely a fun bike with adequate power to put a smile on the face as you cruise along happily

Post 1st service, I finally get to hit the highway to Pune!

I was skeptical at first as I was riding solo as this was my first tour on bike in ages, although I was mentally prepared for any contingencies. With age comes wisdom they say, and I was sane enough to keep the throttle under control, occasionally enjoying the power, surge and speed on empty stretches which were not many! I was on a constant lookout for cattle, dogs, cyclists and bikers cutting the dividers, people crossing the roads without looking either side, auto and trucks cutting lanes without indication, local enthusiastic bikers who look at you as an absolute racing unit in the riding gears and coax you indirectly to speed up with them!

The weather was on a warmer side after a brief spell of rains, but it did turn the lack luster road to Solapur something aka picturesque.

I am not adding anything new to the bike’s performance or behavior which everyone pretty much knows. It’s definitely a fun bike with adequate power to put a smile on the face as you cruise along happily.

The answer to the FAQ – Kitna deti hai? 30kmpl on highway is not bad at all and picture abhi baki hai! I got this mileage one side to Pune. Thanks to Google Maps, I had to make a detour correction of 70kms.

After a couple days in Pune, I hit back home and this time the weather was hot for the first half of the ride and met some thundershowers as I entered Hyderabad.

The Ujani dam on the Bhima river in Solapur district.

Some respite from the heat as I entered the rain zone but still a long way to go.

The run back home was faster and surprisingly the mileage too was better.
All in all a memorable first tour on the Duke
