The annual pass definitely saves money for frequent travelers on eligible toll crossings.

So, I was able to buy annual pass and also put it for use during trip from Bangalore to Tiruvannamalai.
Following is my experience so far.
It shows 15 Rs deduction for every eligible crossing (I got email notification from my Fastag provider). I guess it is only for book keeping (15 Rs x 200 crossings = 3000). We can view the trip balance (remaining crossing) in Rajmargyatra app and use the service provider account to track transaction report.
Out of the 4 crossings, I got email notification for 1 crossing from my service provider. Rajmargyatra app shows 3 crossings consumed and balance of 197 crossings. Transaction report in the tag provider account shows only 2 entries. May be some technical glitch they need to fix.
While the annual pass definitely saves money for frequent travelers on eligible toll crossings, I can think of one situation which can be a potential issue. Pass is linked to a Fastag ID. For some reason, if the Fastag gets damaged and needs to be replaced or someone wants to change to another service provider during the year, it is not clear whether the annual pass can be transferred to new tag and the process. I hope they have a work around for such situations.

This is fabulous.
I went on a trip starting around 3 am on 15 August. Returned just before midnight on 16. Total km driven 2000. One driver!
Usually, it would cost ₹4000. But today it was just ₹435. Unbelievable. Of course, there was another state/local toll of ₹80.
What a saving!

I recently did return journey from Vadodara – Ajmer via Godhra, Shamlaji, Udaipur route and used this facility. Saved around 1200 rs. in toll for in total 12 crossings. Very useful and convenient. The roads are very good with few diversions on Udaipur to Ajmer stretch.

Used the annual pass for a 500 km trip yesterday. I usually end up paying 855 in tolls one way (NHAI tolls cost 715, 140 for Hyderabad ORR). I only paid for ORR yesterday and the rest were covered under the annual pass. This translates to 1430 in savings per trip (round trip) for me. I usually make 6-7 round trips per year which means I will end up with 5580 – 7000 in savings alone (deducted the initial investment of 3K). If I factor in the impromptu trips I make, savings will be even higher. Fuelio says I spent 50K on tolls in the last 3 years (13K this year). I hope they continue the annual pass for the foreseeable future.

On my trip from my hometown to Gaziabad yesterday, 6 trips were deducted. The usual toll charges are around INR 600 (one-way). My workplace to my hometown toll charges are INR 385 (one-way, 3 tolls over 150 km). I am going to break-even only with 4 trips to my hometown. My estimated annual savings are INR 11k.
Much appreciated step from MoRTH.
