I confidently drove back with speed not exceeding 105km. With cruise control most of the time active

Just want to share a summary of a Day trip I had on my iX1 with a round trip of 450Km Bangalore – Kabini backwaters.
Let me confess, I wanted to have a journey without any charge anxiety, so my charging plan may be a little aggressive.
Pre-plan: I did not have any plan as to where to stop for charging, as the whole route had a lot of charging infrastructure. I wanted to just plan on the go rather than a pre-planned stop. Started my journey with 90% charged overnight.
90% – 354 km range
1st Stop. Mysore Manipal Hospital. Distance travelled 124Km
51% – 190KM range. I had another 84KM ahead of me and thought a juice up at this stage is not a bad idea, so that I will not have to worry about finding a charger later on my return journey.
charged at Zeon DC Charger 120KW – charged upto 83% – 305KM range left
2nd Stop. Jungle Lodges and Resort Kabini. Apparently, JLR has 2 slots of AC charge ports of 7.7KW from TruePower. Our safari was 3 hours, and I thought, why not do an AC charge instead of a DC charge for the return journey, and wanted to capitalise on parking time during our jungle safari.
Plugged in at 62% – 236 km. It was a slow charge and was not efficient, and it had stopped charging with 63% – 243km. FEEDBACK. Don’t rely on this; it’s very poorly maintained and erratic. But if you are staying overnight, then you can put it on charge and need to check regularly for faults.
3rd and Final Stop. There was another EV charging port at a Restaurant on the return. I had enough charge for my return journey but, would get into charge anxiety if I did not charge throughout my journey. We any way had to stop for dinner anyway, so the place was ideal to stop for dinner.
Distance travelled – 43Km – 50% charge left with 205km Range
Charged using a Zeon charger – 30kV DC charger. Charged to 79% – 324km
After the journey, I have 41% charge left with 177KM range. Overall expenses on this journey are Rs 1140/- for a travel of 450km.
Ride experience. Since the driving assistance feature is something that I need to get used to, I was quite cautious and had to keep control over breaks and steering, which caused a bit of stress.
1. Al thought BMW was a driver’s car; the passengers were extremely comfortable in the overall drive with no travel fatigue. The turns and twists had almost no effect on them. Braking is very smooth, and acceleration is subtle, which makes the drive a pleasure.
2. I stressed my ankle a bit by holding my leg on the brakes during cruise control. You keep it light such that you don’t apply brakes, and you are not fully relaxed to delay any brakes. I don’t know how much I can rely on ADAS for this, but I didn’t take my chances, and the side effect was this stress.
3. Same with Steering as well. This is the first time I am driving an ADAS-enabled car. While I enjoyed the lane assist, it made me hold the steering firm throughout the journey to have control over the steering against the sudden pull back on lane departure. I guess it requires some getting used to time.
