Following the Patrol, Nissan has now unveiled the first-ever Nismo version of its X-Trail SUV.
On the exterior, the X-Trail Nismo gets dark chrome accents that sweep horizontally above the grille, front splitter with Nismo badging, side skirts and a rear diffuser with an F1-style brake light with red highlights. Nissan says the body kit generates downforce without increasing air resistance. It reduces lift by 29% compared to the base model. Another exterior highlight is exclusive 20-inch Enkei aluminium wheels that have a wide centre opening to improve brake cooling and a flat outer rim to streamline airflow. The X-Trail Nismo gets Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres. The X-Trail Nismo is available in a 5-seater configuration only.
The interior features red accents throughout the cabin. Customers can order Nismo-tuned Recaro sports seats that are available as an option. They come with an electric adjust and heating function.
The X-Trail Nismo comes with Kayaba Swing Valve shock absorbers, a first for Nissan. The e-4ORCE electric-drive all-wheel control technology is specifically tuned for the X-Trail Nismo. It increases rear-wheel drive distribution and controls the front tyres for directional turning, enhancing line-tracing while accelerating through corners. Additionally, acceleration characteristics and front-rear drive distribution are tuned for each drive mode. The vehicle control module (VCM) has also been specially tuned, and features a Sport mode that prioritizes responsiveness. There is also an AUTO mode designed for mid to high range acceleration.
Mechanically, the X-Trail Nismo remains unchanged. It is powered by a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain that develops 211 BHP and 525 Nm of torque.
Sales of the X-Trail Nismo will begin on 24th September in Japan.
