Excess voters in Hyderabad too, says Union Minister Kishan Reddy

Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy refuted the allegations of ‘vote theft’, and said the excess voters issue is not confined to Bihar alone but the entire country, including Hyderabad, which too faces the same problem.

In an informal chat with reporters here on Saturday, he stressed the need to revise the electoral rolls in Telangana. “At least four lakh votes will be removed in Hyderabad after the revision of the electoral rolls,” he said.

Rejecting the opposition charge that the BJP is behind the ‘theft of votes’, he asked, “Why did the BJP get fewer MP seats compared to previous elections if the party is behind the alleged theft of votes.”

Mr. Reddy said that they (NDA) picked CP Radhakrishnan as he hails from the Most Backward Class (MBC).

Mr. Reddy exuded confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would win the Bihar elections comfortably with an increase in seats, in view of a favourable political atmosphere. He also remarked that the Congress lacks a clear agenda that would help it win the elections. He criticised the Congress for making the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) a controversy stating that it would not help them.

The Minister also ridiculed the Congress, stating that even the Congress leaders are not aware of why their leader, Rahul Gandhi, had embarked on ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’. He said that Congress is making much ado about nothing for political gains.
