Galaxy Tab S10 Lite vs. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite: Four major upgrades

Samsung just launched the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, its new mid-range tablet, and it succeeds last year’s Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. If you were wondering what upgrades the new model offers over the old one, we have made a detailed comparison of the two tablets, which you can check out below.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite brings four major upgrades over the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024).

While the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a 10.4-inch LCD with a 60Hz refresh rate, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite has a 10.9-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. So, using apps, playing games, and watching photos/videos on the newer model should be much more fun.

The second upgrade is its faster processor. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite uses the Exynos 1280 chipset, which was powerful enough to handle most day-to-day tasks without any hiccups. The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, though, features the Exynos 1380 chip, which has a significantly more powerful CPU.

You also get more memory and storage. Samsung had launched the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. In comparison, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite is available with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The more powerful SoC and higher memory should make the new model perform much faster.

The third upgrade the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite offers over the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a larger battery with faster charging. While the previous model had a 7,040mAh battery with 15W charging, the new one packs an 8,000mAh unit with 25W charging. The 13% larger battery should make the tablet last significantly longer.

The fourth upgrade is faster connectivity. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite’s cellular variant had support for 4G (LTE) connectivity. The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite’s cellular variant has 5G connectivity. The new tablet also comes with support for Wi-Fi 6 as opposed to support for Wi-Fi 5 on the older model.

The rest of the features of the two tablets are similar, including an 8MP camera at the rear, a 5MP camera at the front, Android 15-based One UI 7.0, and support for S Pen (both models come with a stylus in the box). It’s worth mentioning that the new model lacks a 3.5mm audio jack, which is something that its predecessor offered, but makes up for it with seven major Android OS updates and security patches for up to seven years.

As you can see, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite offers a better display, faster processor, larger battery, and faster connectivity compared to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Yes, it also comes with a price premium (which you can check out here), but with these upgrades, it makes sense to shell out the extra money.
