In a spirit of patriotism to honour the courage and resilience of India’s Armed Forces, a mandal in Hyderabad’s Kachiguda is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi this year with a remarkable twist, a Lord Ganesha idol inspired by India’s pride, the S-400 defence system.
The innovative concept has drawn widespread attention, blending spirituality with a tribute to the nation’s strength and resilience.
The idol not only symbolises faith and devotion but also pays tribute to the nation’s strength, resilience, and unity. By blending spirituality with a theme that reflects national security, the pandal reminds people of the balance between belief and responsibility towards the country.
The S-400 air defence system played a crucial role in Operation Sindoor, helping India neutralise aerial threats during the cross-border strikes.
Its success has made the operation a source of national pride. With patriotism running high, Operation Sindoor is expected to emerge as a popular theme for pandals this festive season, not just during Ganesh Mahotsav but also in upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.
Devotees are flocking to the pandal in large numbers, captivated by both the spiritual aura of the deity and the patriotic sentiment behind the design. The celebration has become a vibrant expression of devotion, strength, and India’s collective spirit.
Meanwhile, the eagerly awaited first look of Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja was unveiled on Sunday ahead of the celebrations. Devotees were spellbound by the first glimpse of the bappa, dressed in magenta colour attire. Located in Putlabai Chawl, Lalbaugcha Raja or ‘King of Lalbaug’ is the most visited Ganesh mandal in Mumbai.
Every year, from ordinary citizens to celebrities, lakhs of Mumbaikars queue up at Lalbaug to catch a glimpse of the iconic idol.
The Ganeshotsav, the festivity of Ganesh Chaturthi, ends after 10 days on Anant Chaturdashi, which is also known as Ganesh Visarjan day.
The ten-day-long celebration of the holy festival Ganesh Chaturthi will begin on Wednesday.
On the last day, Lord Ganesha idols will be carried out in grand processions and immersed in rivers, lakes, or the sea.
Operation Sindoor
In one of the biggest attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Lashkar-linked terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday, April 22, killing at least 26 people, including foreign tourists, and injuring many others. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar offshoot, claimed responsibility for the attack.
India responded with Operation Sindoor on May 7, bombing nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in pre-dawn strikes that killed at least 100 militants. The operation sparked four days of cross-border fighting involving fighter jets, missiles and artillery.
