Hyderabad: After a brief break, a low pressure area over Odisha has brought back overcast skies and moderate rainfall in Hyderabad and heavy downpour in districts of Telangana.

On Tuesday morning, Head, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad, K Nagaratna said “Today is very likely to receive heavy rains and thunderstorms in Eastern Telangana from KomaramBheem Asifabad and Khammam districts. Areas under GHMC are likely to get cloudy and light rains are expected. We are expecting light rains in Southern districts and moderate rains in North and Western districts of the State”.

“Under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha-West Bengal coasts, a low pressure area formed over northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast on August 26. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and become more marked during the next 2 days,” Nagaratna on X posted.

Independent weather tracker T Balaji (Telangana Weatherman on X) said Hyderabad will experience a lot of drizzle during the early parts of the day on Tuesday. “More moderate spells of rain ahead from evening onwards,” he added.
