ZEE5’s latest exclusive release Tehran has emerged as a blockbuster on the streaming platform, becoming the fastest Hindi film of 2025 to cross 100 million streaming minutes within just 72 hours of its premiere on August 14.
The geo-political thriller, directed by Dinesh Vijan and starring John Abraham, Neeru Bajwa, Manushi Chhillar and Madhurima Tuli, went on to cross 200 million streaming minutes in its launch week, ranking as ZEE5’s most-viewed title of the year by watch time.
The film trended in the Top 3 spots across 17 states in India and entered the Top 5 ZEE5 titles of 2025 globally, performing strongly in the US, MENA, UK and APAC regions.
Promotions for Tehran included a screening at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service in Delhi, where John Abraham interacted with students, and a striking visual projection of the film’s poster on Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
Kaveri Das, Business Head, Hindi ZEE5, said the film’s success reflects the growing appetite for intelligent and thought-provoking stories. John Abraham expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response, saying it reinforced his belief in making cinema that pushes boundaries.
Set against the backdrop of the 2012 magnetic bomb explosion near the Israeli Embassy in Delhi, Tehran has now cemented its place as one of ZEE5’s most successful premieres of 2025.
