Hyderabad: A moving bus of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) caught fire at Mehdipatnam bus stop on Tuesday. None were hurt in the incident. A short circuit is suspected to have led to the fire.
As per available information, the incident occurred around 9 am, when the city ordinary bus was proceeding from Masab Tank towards Rajendranagar with about 40 passengers on board.
On reaching near Metro Pillar No.9 at Mehdipatnam, the bus caught fire with the driver noticing it and stopping the vehicle on the road. The passengers were alerted and they rushed out to safety.
The bus staff alerted the fire department and the police. The fire department officials reached the spot and doused the flames, by which time the front part of the bus was badly burnt.
