Mass Jathara featuring Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja had been making huge noise everywhere since its announcement. Many of the actor’s fans have thought it would mark his biggest comeback like Dhamaka, as it features Sreeleela, besides him. Also, the makers promised a vintage Ravi Teja commercial entertainer in theatres.
They have locked solo festival release on 27th August on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi. Now, they have confirmed that the movie has been postponed to a new festive date which will be announced soon. The makers have attributed it to the industry strikes that resulted in unexpected holdups in post-production.
The producers have also stressed that they are focused on delivering the best possible cinematic experience for audiences, rather than rushing the release. They noted that all departments are working tirelessly to complete the film. But the industry speculations are that producer Naga Vamsi, due to WAR 2 and Kingdom losses, decided to take this step.
Mainly, Kingdom failure jolted him to correct any mistakes rather than rushing. Adding salt to the wound, WAR 2 failure has made him rethink his strategy and re-work on release schedules, say insiders. Bhanu Bhogavarapu is directing the film and the initial reaction for the teaser has been negative and lukewarm which also prompted for this backstep, it seems.
After Mr. Bachchan, Ravi Teja is expected to take good care for his 75th film, but even fans felt disappointed with the teaser that offered nothing remarkable or new from the actor. Let’s wait and see, how the movie will shape up going forward.
