Hyderabad: NIMS vascular department upgraded with new medical equipment

Hyderabad: The vascular department of Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has been upgraded with the installation of advanced medical equipment, along with new doctors’ cabins and a nursing station in the trauma block.

The new medical infrastructure was made possible through a donation of Rs 17 lakh by Kotivity Indian Private Limited in memory of Kedarmal Agarwal, with the support of his son Pawan Kumar Agarwal.

The equipment includes a Masimo Root BFM monitor, Systolic Blood Pressure–Pulse Volume Recording (SBP-PVR), and Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) devices, which will enable doctors to accurately assess the health of blood vessels and diagnose diseases such as Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).

The Masimo Root BFM monitor, which uses state-of-the-art sensor technology, will play a crucial role in evaluating the effectiveness of revascularization procedures performed on nearly 2,000 patients each year. It will also help provide quality services to more than 20,000 outpatients who visit the department annually, a press release said.
