Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer romantic comedy Param Sundari is getting its hold back at the box office after witnessing a lukewarm start. Opening with mixed-to-positive reviews, the film has managed to maintain its overall collection on a higher mark after the end of day 3.
As per Sacnilk reports, Param Sundari earned Rs 10.25 crore on Sunday at the domestic box office, increasing 40% from its opening day collection on Friday. At the end of day 3, the film has earned Rs 26.75 crore in India.
Param Sundari Day 3 WorldWide Collection
As per trade sources, Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s chemistry led the film to do well overseas, especially in the US and UK box offices. According to the estimates, Param Sundari has earned over $1.1 million (approximately Rs 11 crore) in overseas territories, taking the film’s worldwide collection to Rs 43 crore at the end of its opening weekend.
With this, the film has surpassed the lifetime haul of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri-starrer Dhadak 2. The film had earned Rs 36 crore at the global box office. Although Param Sundari has surpassed Dhadak 2’s global collection during its opening weekend, it is way behind the mark set by Mohit Suri’s romantic saga Saiyaara, which had collected a whopping Rs 117 crore worldwide in its first three days.
Param Sundari India Occupancy
On Day 3, Param Sundari registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 17.37%, as per Sacnilk. The morning shows witnessed 10.56% occupancy, while the afternoon shows clocked 24.17%. Among the regions, Delhi-NCR had the highest number of screenings but only managed 18% occupancy. Other cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, and Jaipur witnessed stronger turnouts.
Param Sundari
Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari follows Param (played by Sidharth Malhotra), a rich Delhi boy who invests his father’s money in new startups. His adventures lead him to Soulmates, an AI-powered matchmaking app, where he gets paired with Sundari (Janhvi Kapoor), a traditional girl from Kerala who runs her family homestay along with her uncle, a Kalari Payattu expert. The film takes a turn when Param’s city lifestyle clashes with Sundari’s rural world, leading their journey to be filled with humour, culture clashes, romance, and emotions. The film hit the theatres on August 29.
