Christian Craig took to social media on Monday afternoon, announcing that he will be leaving Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing after completing one year of his originally planned two year deal. Craig returned to the blue brand after spending two years with Husqvarna’s factory operation. The veteran missed the opening half of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship due to a Torn ACL, which he suffered at the final SuperMotocross World Championship round at Las Vegas in September 2024.
Craig qualified for all eight main events after his return but failed to score a top ten finish. His best results came at Denver and Salt Lake City, finishing 11th. He was absent from the Pro Motocross Championship this summer and finished the year 29th in the combined SMX standings, which would’ve put Craig into the playoff LCQs.
The second generation racer initially joined Star Racing in the wake of GEICO Honda’s closure at the end of the 2020 season. In his first two years with the team, Craig won the 2022 250 West Supercross title and won six 250SX main events. He also had a pair of solid campaigns aboard a 450 in the Pro Motocross Championship, finishing sixth and fifth in points respectively.

The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team will still have a fleet of riders competing in the postseason. 450SX champion Cooper Webb, Eli Tomac and #1 seed Justin Cooper will represent the team in the 450 class, with 2-time defending 250SMX champion Haiden Deegan, Nate Thrasher, Cole Davies, Max Anstie and Daxton Bennick in the 250 class.
