Rs 700cr sanctioned for roads in 429 tribal habitations

Hyderabad: SC, ST and minorities welfare minister Adluri Laxman on Tuesday announced that the state govt has sanctioned Rs 700 crore for the construction of BT roads in 429 tribal habitations across Telangana.Speaking to the media at the secretariat, he said the state govt’s priority is to improve road connectivity for tribal communities, especially in areas where infrastructure was damaged during recent floods.“Funds have been sanctioned under govt order (GO 240) and through the ST sub-plan. Roads for 236 villages under the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) have also been approved. Tenders will be floated soon,” the minister said.He also alleged that the previous BRS govt had neglected tribal habitations for the past 10 years.
