BHPian dkaile recently shared this with other enthusiastsHow to install flush-mounted TWEETERS in any car’s Door Pads -What all will you need? Firstly, a Drill and an appropriately sized Hole Saw – 44 mm is the one I need – Proper Hole Saw is necessary with a smaller drill bit upfront for a easier and accurate hole – Optional – Also get a Super Strong Hot Glue stick and a glue gun to seal off the tweeter from the back when the job is done. Desirable for a professional job but not necessary – Now, suppose this 2mm hardboard is simulating your door pad surface. Always choose anappropriate spot to drill the hole as per the directions mentioned before. Look for better acoustic footprint, at listening level, and sufficient space and no hindrances at the back – Cover the area with some masking tape to avoid scratches and mark the penetration point – Get an appropriate drawing compass – And draw the circle of the exact size needed (44mm in our case). Double check the spot from behind to ensure that proper clearances are available and ensure to repeat the hole at the same spot on the other door/s without any issues – Now drill the hole, ensuring you don’t scratch any surfaces and don’t damage anything below. Always drill the hole when the door panel is off the car and not on it – Remove the masking tape – File the hole a bit if it needs to be enlarged slightly – Finally hand file to a smooth surface – Insert the tweeter to flush mount, and Voila! Notice the inverted dome of the Focal! Now you can connect the wiring and reattach the door pads to complete the job. Hope that helps. Cheers… Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
