Send inspectorManoj Bajpayee’s latest OTT release, is now streaming on Netflix. The crime-comedy has opened to mixed reviews from both audiences and critics.
The film blends humour with crime drama, and Manoj Bajpayee’s performance has been praised as the strongest part of the film. His portrayal keeps viewers invested in the otherwise inconsistent narrative.
The story follows Inspector Zende as he tracks down murderer Carl Bhojdra, a character clearly inspired by Charles Sobhraj. The film is based on the real-life story of cop Madhukar Zende.
Early reviews describe it as a one-man show and a fitting tribute to an unsung hero. Critics found the film gripping in parts and appreciated Bajpayee’s command over the character.
However, not all feedback has been positive. While some reviewers liked the plot’s potential, many criticised the poor writing, dragged scenes, and forced humour. A few viewers felt the screenplay made even a solid performer like Bajpayee appear out of place.
Despite the film’s flaws, fans of Manoj bajpayee may still find it worth a watch. But overall, Inspector Zende is being seen as a missed opportunity with a strong lead but weak execution.
