Hyderabad: Former minister T Harish Rao, responding to the recent allegations and remarks made by his cousin K Kavitha, chose to leave the matter to her ‘wisdom,’ emphasising his commitment to Telangana.Speaking to the media shortly after returning from London on Saturday, Harish Rao asserted that his life has always been an open book.Controversy erupted after Telangana Jagruthi founder-president Kavitha accused both Harish Rao and former MP J Santosh Kumar of corruption in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, questioned Harish Rao’s role in the Telangana statehood movement, and made pointed remarks suggesting CM Revanth Reddy’s support for them. The BRS swiftly suspended Kavitha in response to her statements. Without naming Kavitha directly, Harish Rao, while speaking at the airport, dismissed the allegations as recycled false propaganda being repeated by certain political factions and individuals. He stressed that his focus remains on serving the people of Telangana.Harish Rao described himself as a ‘disciplined disciple’ of K Chandrasekhar Rao (former CM). He accused the Revanth Reddy govt of deliberately undermining the state’s development, while stressing how farmers did not face any crisis during the decade-long tenure of KCR’s leadership.Later in the afternoon, Harish Rao visited the Erravelli farmhouse to meet KCR and discuss the prevailing political and socio-economic challenges confronting the state.
