Took delivery of my Mahindra XEV9e Pack 2: Initial ownership review

Took delivery of my Mahindra XEV9e Pack 2: Initial ownership review BHPian travelex recently shared this with other enthusiasts: The process took longer than expected due to an unavoidable delay from the bank. The rest of the process was pretty standard. Since it was getting late, I could not get a proper demo of the car. Hence, I kept pressing hard on the Mahindra Logo for the horn, only to realise later that the horn keys are placed on the ends of the spokes. Took the car for 50km and 120 km spins. However, I did not take too many pictures because of the rainy weather. Here are my observations in no particular order: 1. The vehicle is big. Almost as big as the Hexa I own. It will take some time getting used to. However, I am not convinced that shelling out 4 lakhs more, for the only significant difference (360 camera) between this, and Pack 3 is worth it for me. With Hexa in the background 2. The driver’s seat comfort with lumbar support is excellent. The space is very good. 3 adults could easily sit in the rear 3. Nebula blue looks more blue than black in bright conditions and vice versa when it is dark. In bright light Almost black in the dark 4. The ride quality is the same as it was in pack 3, from what I recall of the test drive I took. Considering the fact that the suspension damping is different in the two variants, I was a bit skeptical. But the ride was as smooth. 5. Fit and finish are as good as expected. The grey interiors do take away a bit of the roominess of the car, but will significantly contribute to long-term stain-free interiors. 6. Infotainment behaved well. Except for once, when some of the apps/ icons in Android Auto became touch unresponsive, with no way for me to exit AA and go to the Mahindra home screen. Restarting the car did the trick. Minor glitch but nothing serious. 7. The knob and its controls on the central console are a good and efficient feature. 8. Audio is good. I own a Hexa (with a Blaupunkt system) and a Slavia with its inbuilt system. Both are good. I have not played around with the equalizer settings much, which may change my opinion about the audio quality. 9. One thing that actually blew me away was the race mode. A friend was on the wheel, and he put the car in the race mode and pushed the throttle hard. My head spun, and I felt dizzy. I wonder who is actually going to need such acceleration. I won’t, ever. 10. The range was as much as expected. I was able to get around 7 km/kWh, which I assume is par for the course. I am new to EVs and still fiddling around with regen levels. So all in all, a good initial experience so far. I hope it stays that way. Will try posting more pics soon. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
