BHPian AutoB recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Hyderabad – Hampi Road Trip Update (Sept 2025) Just got back from a Hyderabad-Hampi road trip and thought I’d share a quick update on routes and conditions. Onward (Hyd Hampi): Took NH44 until Kurnool – excellent roads, super smooth drive. From Kurnool towards Ballari, the road condition quickly dropped from average to outright horrible in some stretches. Way too many unmarked speed breakers, potholes, and rough patches. Things only got better once we were close to the main Hampi tourist areas. Total drive time: ~8 hours Return (Hampi Hyd): Tried the Hampi Raichur Mahbubnagar Hyd route. Much better overall compared to the onward leg. Some bad patches with ongoing road work and speed breakers, but nothing unmanageable. Once we hit NH44 near Mahbubnagar, it was back to excellent roads. Drive time: ~7 hours. Tip: Not too many decent food stops on this route, so when you spot one, don’t skip! Overall: Be patient, drive slow, and enjoy the journey. The scenery makes up for the road conditions – we stopped at multiple farms along the way and took pictures with fields of paddy, sugarcane, sunflower, marigold, and cotton.
