Brake failure on my brand new Harrier.ev: No solution in sight

Brake failure on my brand new Harrier.ev: No solution in sight BHPian reddysaab recently shared this with other enthusiasts: 5/9/25 – Brake Failure in My Brand-New Tata Harrier QWD Second Issue in Less Than a Week (After the Key foB Failure on 3/9/25) Two issues within the first week of ownership is not what I expected from a brand-new car, let alone in this segment. From the first day, I felt the braking was inconsistent – spongy, and a bit like the old Ambassador days where you needed to pump the pedal. Today things got worse. The car threw multiple errors (hill-hold, auto-hold, traction control, stability system faults), and suddenly the brake pedal went all the way in – almost no braking at all. Luckily, the road wasn’t busy and I managed to pull over safely. RSA was painfully slow, and only the sales team from the showroom stepped in to help. After the usual mobile phone “switch off and on” trick, the errors vanished, and I drove to the Boinpally workshop. There, I even met another Harrier ev owner who had faced the exact same issue – he said he narrowly escaped an accident. The workshop team admitted they don’t have a fix yet. They mentioned the Harrier uses “advanced brake software,” which they suspect is causing the issue, and are waiting for engineers from the plant to diagnose. As of now, the car is at the workshop, and I’m left with serious doubts about reliability and safety. Looks like I got carried away by the Harrier EV ads and ended up making a blunder by jumping onto Tata. For prospective buyers, my honest suggestion would be to wait until Tata addresses this issue, unless you enjoy frequent workshop visits. As for me, OLX might be calling sooner than I thought.
