A. Siri took charge as the new Collector of Kurnool district on Saturday. Ms. Siri said that she would strive for the development of Kurnool with the cooperation of people’s representatives and public.
Speaking after assuming charge, Ms. Siri said that she would focus on the priorities sectors identified by the government and develop Kurnool into a smart city. “My focus would be to resolve the drinking water problem in the district and increase the ground water levels,” she said.
Ms. Siri said that the Orvakal Industrial Node will be developed for industrial growth, which will then generate more employment opportunities. Impetus would be given to the education sector in rural areas and in taking up repairs, if any, in the Government General Hospital, Kurnool. The new Collector said that the petitions received through PGRS will be resolved after scrutinising them.
Later, the Collector addressed the officials and sought their cooperation in developing the district. She said that it was her first posting as a District Collector and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had directed the newly appointed Collectors to accelerate growth in the districts.
Ms. Siri also called on district judge G. Kabardi, Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath and others. Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Patil, Joint Collector B. Navya, District Revenue Officer C. Venkata Narayanamma met and congratulated Ms. Siri.
