Hyderabad: A major fire broke out on the second floor of a software office in Ayyappa Society, Madhapur, in the early hours of Saturday, causing property damage worth lakhs.Officials said the fire broke out at CamelQ Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, which is situated on the second floor of a four-storey building. However, there were no injuries or casualties as there was no staff present on the premises.“We received a call at around 4 am and immediately sent two fire engines to the scene. Our preliminary investigation suggests that the fire was caused by a short circuit in an air conditioning unit in the office. The estimated damage is currently between Rs 12 and 15 lakh, but this requires further confirmation as we have yet to meet the company owner,” said Anjanyelu D, Madhapur station fire officer.While two fire engines were initially sent from the Madhapur police station, a third was sent from the Jubilee Hills fire station. The fire was contained within two and a half hours. “While the fire itself was not huge, it was the smoke that took time to ventilate,” said the SFO.
