Drug factory inside Hyderabad school busted, Alprazolam worth lakhs seized – Telangana News

The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), Hyderabad team has uncovered an illegal Alprazolam manufacturing unit operating inside a private school in Bowenpally, seizing narcotics, cash, and equipment worth several lakhs.

Officials said the operation was run by Malela Jaya Prakash Goud, a Mahabubnagar native and owner of Medha School. Jaya Prakash reportedly teamed up with a man named Guruvareddy, who supplied the formula and process to produce Alprazolam.

Motivated by profit, Jaya Prakash began manufacturing the drug in a secluded section of the school and distributing it to toddy depots in Boothpur and nearby areas of Mahabubnagar district.

During the raid, authorities recovered 3.5 kg of finished Alprazolam and 4.3 kg of semi-processed tablets, along with raw materials, manufacturing equipment, and Rs 21 lakh in cash.

Officials said the discovery raises serious safety and legal concerns, given that the illicit operation was conducted inside a school, putting students and staff at risk.

The EAGLE team is continuing its investigation to identify additional accomplices and the wider network involved in the drug production and distribution. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
