Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday provided a roadmap to ministers, TPCC president, various corporations chairmen and others in charge of the bypoll-bound Jubilee constituency, instructing them to work towards securing a huge majority in the by-election, as it would impact the GHMC elections scheduled for December/January.A review meeting was held at his residence with ministers G Vivek, Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti, Tummala Nageswara Rao, TPCC chief B Mahesh Goud and others, where the tone was set for the Jubilee Hills by-poll. Party leaders were directed to approach voters with a development and welfare agenda, as BRS is expected to seek sympathy votes.“Explain to the people that the previous BRS govt’s claim of development of Hyderabad was just on paper. Tell the voters the vision of the Congress govt to make Greater Hyderabad one of the best cities in the world,” CM Revanth said. The meeting noted that the by-poll notification may be issued by month-end itself.Mahesh Kumar Goud and other agencies, along with ministers, submitted their respective survey reports to the CM, stating that the ruling Congress graph has improved tremendously in recent months and that the party’s winning prospects are high. Ministers also provided feedback on candidates with winning prospects and the problems faced by the people. After listening to the reports, the CM informed them that the AICC is also conducting surveys and the party high command will finalise the candidate for the by-election. “A great responsibility lies on your shoulders to ensure the victory of the party at all costs. Work unitedly and effectively take the welfare schemes and development being done by the govt to the door steps of every voter. Prepare polling booth-level plans and campaign accordingly,” the CM said.Revanth urged ministers and every Congress leader and worker to instil confidence among voters that their issues and problems can be solved only by the Congress govt and not the opposition parties. “Make the people understand and realise that the development of Jubilee Hills assembly constituency is possible only with the Congress,” he said.Ministers and all in-charges were also informed that the CM is receiving daily reports about their work at the field-level in the constituency. He explained that several surveys have already indicated that victory in this by-election is in favour of the Congress party. “We (Congress) are doing much better than the previous surveys. This by-poll is a great opportunity to effectively gain momentum for the ensuing elections to GHMC,” he added.Party leaders and ministers were instructed to hold meetings with all caste, colony and slum associations, and street corner meetings at every polling booth level. “Write down all the issues and problems raised by them and solve them. The govt will extend total cooperation for solving the problems and ensuring development works are taken up in the constituency. It is the responsibility of the govt to ensure development of not just one but all the constituencies in the state,” Revanth said.
