I bought a used Toyota Corolla Altis petrol; Need advice for upkeep

I bought a used Toyota Corolla Altis petrol; Need advice for upkeep BHPian Ashvin recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Hi Guys, As a first-time car owner, I am a newbie when it comes to cars and there is a lot I want to do but I dont know where to begin and I felt reaching out to the experts will help me get better clarity and to break things down. I recently purchases a used Toyota Corolla Altis Petrol 1.8G 6 Gear Variant – 2011 Manufactured Year. Its a beautiful family owned single owner car which has done about 1.1L KMs. After a lot of research and reading, I had zeroed down on Toyota since I wanted something reliable on the road as it wasn’t my daily commute but my weekend commute with family which would allow me to go on long drives and vacation – I believe I made the best choice. I need your valuable feedback in following things and I am breaking it into 3 different parts so that experienced people can help me with answers for each.Part 1. General Repairs and CheckupsWhere do you guys recommend this? Showroom or a good local mechanic considering the age of the car. My end goal is I dont mind if its slightly expensive but I dont want any headache of car breaking down on road or anywhere for that matter. When I bought the car, I was informed it has Bearing Work, Steering Rack Work primarily. I also have a travel plan for 1000kms up and down and wanted to get car serviced before that.Part 2. Body WorkThe car has some body work. Front bumper may have to be replaced or just needs to be refit and has scratches and dents which requires repaint. A local shop called Motoman in bangalore suggested I can just repaint front and rear bumper since these 2 have visibile scratches and marks and then a whole car polish will do the work. While I want to get this done, I also want to give the car a new car look without it being too expensive on my pocket. Any suggestion and recommendation for ideal store in Bangalore would be very helpful. I reside towards South of Bangalore in an area called Hulimavu.Part 3 – In Car InfotainmentI love music, especially the kind where bass is felt and not heard just the likes of Boat or better. The kind of music I listen to is Techno, Electro, House & Trance with occasional bollywood for my wife. From a dealer I understood that headunit and speakers of the car are good and doesnt need to be changed. He recommended I get a good woofer with a dedicated mono amp, a 4 channel amp for speakers, good wiring kit, a DSP. Since I am trying to restrict the budget, this dealer gave me 2 options. Low Range (No brand mentioned by dealer) – 4 Channel Amp – Rs.9,500/- – Mono DLS Amplifier – Rs.6,500/- – JBL A1300 HI Sub – Rs.5,500/- – Wiring – Rs.6000/- – Installation – Rs.6000/- – Subwoofer Box – Rs.5,500/- – Total – Rs.39,000/- High Range – Morel MPD 4.100 4 Channel Amp – Rs.13,500/- – Worldtech XM10 Mono Amp – Rs.14,500/- – Pioneer TSW1212SS4 Sub Woofer – Rs.7,800/- – Nakamichi Nose 60A DSP – Rs.9,500/- – Wiring – Rs.6000/- – Subwoofer Box – Rs.5,500/- – Installation – Rs.12,000/– Total – Rs.68,300/- I would be grateful if you could help me with answers for all. I would even be more greatful if you recommend a good shop for each from your experience. Being a first time buyer, I am doing things part by part to adjust my budget and also excited and looking forward to getting my car ready the way I want.
