Why 250cc bikes are never boring: A scenic ride to Kanakapura BHPian neil.jericho recently shared this with other enthusiasts: With most fellow enthusiasts not being available for a lazy morning ride, fellow TBHPian shaikhmimran and I headed off towards Kanakapura for a relaxed ride with no firm destination in mind. There were a couple of dams that we had shortlisted earlier, but we chose to take a call based on the weather and traffic, once we got to Kanakapura. With the memories of the 3 motorcyclists on their Yamaha R15s (from my last ride update) still fresh in my mind, I altered my riding style to dig into the top-end power that I never really make use of, especially when I am in fifth gear. Needless to say, I had so much more fun by staying in the power band instead of shifting early, which resulted in me being a lot quicker overall, on the same road and in the same conditions that I have ridden through several times in the past. We weren’t keen on having breakfast at our usual, ahem, fine dining places, so we eventually pulled over at a small restaurant on the side of the road, where we were served some rather fat dosas and the most curious variation of Badam tea that we have ever sampled. The fabulous weather more than made up for our culinary misadventures. On the return journey, we turned off the highway and ventured down a few unexplored inner roads for a while. I almost forgot to mention that this is one of those rare post updates in which you will see both my motorcycles in the photographs. Traffic was sparse as we approached Bangalore and returned to our regularly programmed schedule of life in the big city. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
