In yet another heartbreaking tragedy, a 30-year-old software professional named Mohammed Nizamuddin from Mahabubnagar district was reportedly shot dead by the Santa Clara Police in California, USA. Nizamuddin lost his life when cops opened fire at him during a scuffle with his roommate over a petty matter on September 3, 2025.
As per the reports, the tragedy struck when Nizamuddin’s neighbour had called the police following a quarrel with his roommate over an AC that turned into violence involving knives. After the police firing, Nizamuddin was immediately rushed to the Santa Clara hospital, where he breathed his last.
Mohammed Nizamuddin had left for the US in 2016 for higher education at Florida College. After completing his MS, he joined an IT firm as a software professional and moved to California after securing a job promotion.
According to the reports, “the police entered Nizamuddin’s room and asked the occupants to show their hands. While one man complied, the other did not. The police then fired four rounds, and Nizamuddin was shot.
Nizamuddin’s father, Mohammed Hasnuddin, told the media that he was informed about his son’s death by his friend in the USA. The grieving father has appealed to the external affairs minister S. Jaishankar to urge the Embassy of India in Washington, DC, and the Consulate General of India in San Francisco to bring back his son’s mortal remains to Mahabubnagar. The heartbroken father told the minister that he does not know the reason why the cops shot his son dead.
