Govt to prioritise court buildings, staff recruitment in new dists, says Revanth

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday assured Telangana high court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh that the state govt would provide all necessary infrastructural facilities and appoint staff in courts across Hyderabad and all districts. The Chief Justice, accompanied by other high court judges, met the CM at the MCRHRD Institute and highlighted the urgent need for proper court buildings and supporting infrastructure in newly-formed districts, as well as the requirement for adequate staff, according to the CMO. After the previous BRS govt reorganised Telangana’s districts in 2016, increasing their number from 10 to 33, many courts in the new districts still lack permanent buildings, face staff shortages, and operate with limited facilities. The Chief Justice urged the govt to prioritise constructing court buildings and improving infrastructure in new districts, alongside initiating staff recruitment. Several proposals were presented to the CM during the meeting. In response, Revanth assured that the govt is committed to undertaking infrastructure development and staff appointments for courts in all districts, with a special focus on the newly-formed districts, on a priority basis. Chief secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, CM’s principal secretary V Seshadri, law secretary Papi Reddy, Justices P Sam Koshy, Abhinand Kumar Shawili, and other senior officials participated in discussions regarding judicial infrastructure and staff recruitment.
