Adding grandeur to the Dasara celebrations, Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer attended the Vijayawada Utsav as chief guest on Tuesday. The Governor was received at Bhavanipuram Punnami Ghat by Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath. He also toured several stalls at the ghat, appreciating the displays.
On the cultural stage at Punnami Ghat, the audience was enthralled by a series of spectacular performances. The local Tanmayi Group presented a captivating Kuchipudi dance recital, while the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma, Vaggevi, mesmerised the crowd with her melodious singing in Telugu and Kannada. Adding to the excitement, contemporary musician Abhijit Nair delivered a live performance that energised the youth and families alike.

The Governor expressed appreciation for the talent showcased and highlighted the importance of cultural celebrations in fostering national recognition and community spirit.
The programme also saw participation from District Collector G. Lakshmisha, Vijayawada Police Commissioner Rajasekhara Babu, MLAs Venigandla Ramu and Kagita Krishna Prasad, Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman Kommareddy Pattabhi, former MLC Budda Venkanna, TDP spokesperson Nagul Meera, several other officials and public representatives.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Shivanath said that every individual should participate in making Vijayawada Utsav a success. He mentioned that the festival was inaugurated in a grand manner by former Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh.
Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan would participate on September 28 and Union Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu on September 29. The Vijayawada Utsav successfully blended tradition and modernity, offering devotees and visitors a memorable experience of art, music, and cultural heritage, he added.
