
Commuters move amid rainfall at Rasoolpura in Hyderabad on Monday (September 22, 2025)

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Hyderabad and neighbouring districts of Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy for Tuesday (September 23, 2025). The alert was announced in the weather forecast released on Monday night.
As per the forecast shared by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on social media platform X, light rain and drizzle are expected between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. This will be followed by scattered light to moderate showers across 25 to 50% of GHMC areas between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Drizzle and light rainfall are likely to continue through the night until 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
The GHMC has urged citizens to avoid low-lying and waterlogged areas, report open manholes or catch pits promptly, stay cautious around electric poles and wires in waterlogged zones, and ensure the safety of children.
The Cyberabad traffic police also issued a separate advisory, saying that no rainfall is expected until the afternoon and a yellow alert would remain in effect from afternoon until night.
