Upgraded the brakes on my BMW 328i F30: Details & costs

Upgraded the brakes on my BMW 328i F30: Details & costs BHPian karan561 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: My BMW F30 328i gets new brakes; This is the 1st full brake system overhaul in my 13+ years of ownership. I took quotes from aftermarket workshops for this job and was being quoted around INR 65k for the parts alone. The parts would be OEM parts. Anyone who is aware about upkeep of BMW’s would be aware about the difference between OEM & Genuine BMW parts. Buying a Genuine part will usually be more expensive than an OEM or aftermarket supplier but you are assured that it meets BMW’s standards for fitment, performance & longevity. It will also be the very latest design, incorporating any updates or revisions that an Aftermarket or OEM brand may ignore. Keeping this in mind I selected Genuine BMW parts & opted for the work to be done at an official BMW Service centre (BMW Infinity, Turbhe); The parts arrived and to my surprise I got absolutely fresh July 2025 imported parts; ^ Made in Germany Here’s a look post fitment of the new discs & pads; Its important to note the brake discs sizes for the F30 328i as 330×24 (front) & 300×20 (rear), where as the F30 320d discs sizes are 312×24 (front) & 300×20 (rear). Meaning the 328i gets larger brakes up front. The quote of INR 65k which I had received was a generalised quote for F30 chassis brake overhaul (discs & pads), hence if I would have gone ahead with that then probably would have ended up downsizing the brakes. So it’s very important for your workshop/tuner to be knowledgeable else to save some money one would end up losing performance & looks. Also it’s interesting to note that BMW back in 2012 gave larger brakes for a more powerful 328i for a non M Sport trim (back then it was called “Sportline”). I also went ahead with the brake fluid job as that was due as per the iDrive. Thanks to BMW’s JOY rewards I got a Discount of 30% Final price including parts & labour was approx INR 95,000/- (Including GST). Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
