The immense popularity of the pan-Indian film, Kantara, has now been recognized by the Indian government with a unique tribute. The Union Ministry of Communications has released special postal covers and postcards inspired by the film’s depiction of Bhootha Kola, a traditional folk ritual from Karnataka.
The film’s success is attributed to its authentic portrayal of this ancient tribal custom, inspiring many to explore and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of Tulus of North Karnataka. In response to this official recognition, the filmmakers expressed their gratitude to Union Minister of Communications, Shri. Jyotiraditya Scindia, for honoring the traditions showcased in the movie.
Rishab Shetty, has directed, written and acted in the original film. Now, he is bringing prequel, Kantara Chapter-1, to the Pan-India film on a large scale. The origin story of Bhootha Kola and the traditions of rich culture of Tulus has become highly anticipated film.
The movie is set to release on October 2nd. Rukhmini Vasanth is playing leading lady role and Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah are playing prominent roles in this film. Produced by Hombale Films, the movie is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
