Suspended constable, habitual offender held in burglary case in Kurnool


Police on Monday arrested two men in connection with a house burglary reported at Kalluru in Kurnool district on February 19, in which 90 grams of gold ornaments and ₹15,000 cash were stolen.

After receiving a complaint from the victim, a special team tracked Jagadish of Gudivada, while he was moving suspiciously on the outskirts of Kurnool. Interrogation revealed that Jagadish was a habitual offender involved in as many as 25 theft cases across Andhra Pradesh.

The police also arrested a suspended constable, identified as Krupanandam, who allegedly aided him. The duo were apprehended at a hotel in the city. The police recovered 40 grams of gold ornaments and seized a motorcycle used for the crime. The duo was remanded.
