The 220 liquor bottles which were seized during vehicle checks conducted on Shamshabad outskirts, in Hyderabad, on Wednesday.
Telangana Excise department officials seized 234 liquor bottles and arrested two persons in separate operations on Wednesday, as part of intensified checks against the transport of non-duty paid liquor (NDPL).
In Shamshabad, officials conducted inspections of cars and other vehicles and intercepted liquor consignments being illegally brought into Telangana from Goa, Lucknow and Haryana.
A total of 220 liquor bottles were seized from the vehicles, and a case was registered against one Arugari for transporting the stock in violation of excise regulations.
In a parallel operation in Malkajgiri, State Task Force- C team seized 14 liquor bottles from one Shaik Azharuddin.
The accused arrested with 14 bottles in Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, on Wednesday.
