OG faces huge legal hurdle in Telangana

Pawan Kalyan’s most anticipated films in recent times, OG, is releasing in few hours all over the world. But the hurdles for the movie seem to be piling up. First, the director Sujeeth and producer DVV Danayya, took till the last moment to send content to Overseas markets and even delayed terms with big multiplexes in cities.

While these factors did effect the planning of distributors to screen the movie at many locations, the late opening of bookings did not effect the speed at which people are buying the tickets. Now, a new legal hurdle has come up for the film in Telangana.

Recently, Telangana Government has permitted the movie makers to hike the ticket rates but this MEMO has been challenged in High Court. Mahesh Yadav filed a petition against Home Ministry of Telangana for giving special consideration to OG. Justice SV Shravan Kumar has suspended the MEMO allowing ticket hikes.

Petitioner has argued that CS, Home Ministry, has no authority to allow ticket hikes and hence, it should be suspended immediately. Also, they have stated that Government has given an undertaking not letting ticket hikes in the state during Game Changer release. Hence, the suspension of the MEMO.

Well, the movie ticket rates should be capped at the maximum ticket price government has ordered according to Court directive. So, this would hamper the huge returns that the makers are planning in Telangana and Hyderabad city, due to this new development.
