Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has asserted that the state will no longer increase film ticket prices, aiming to protect common citizens from financial burden. The Minister made this declaration following a controversy surrounding the government order (GO) that permitted ticket hikes for the film They Call Him OG.

Expressing his displeasure, Minister Venkat Reddy voiced anger at the Home Department’s Special Chief Secretary for issuing the GO without his knowledge. “Why was the G.O for OG’s ticket price increase issued without me being informed?” he questioned, suggesting the order was given merely because a similar G.O was sanctioned in AP.

The Minister welcomed the stay issued by the Telangana High Court single bench on the OG ticket price hike. Moving forward, he stated that whether for “small films or big films,” the ticket rate will remain uniform. This decision, he stressed, is final, ensuring that the burden of increased entertainment costs will not fall on the general public.

“Film ticket rates will not be increased from now on to prevent the common man from bearing the cost,” he concluded. Pawan Kalyan starrer They Call Him OG, has released on 25th September and with premieres it has collected Rs.20.57 crores+ share in Nizam area.

The ticket hikes have helped the movie to collect huge worldwide. The movie first day collections, including premieres, is estimated to be Rs.156 crores+ and Overseas numbers have not been finalised yet. Sujeeth has directed the film and DVV Danayya has produced it.
