District Collector A. Siri and Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil conducted a review meeting with senior officials and village heads on Friday (September 26, 2025) to discuss arrangements for the famous Devaragattu Banni festival, which will be celebrated on the night of Dasara in Devaragattu village. The officials estimated that over three lakh devotees would likely participate in the festival and highlighted the importance of safety and infrastructure measures.

The Collector instructed all government departments to be prepared at least two days in advance. “Roads should be repaired on a war footing, and ensure enhanced lighting arrangements and an uninterrupted power supply. Medical camps should be set up nearby at all vital junctions and staffed with medical and paramedical staff, with adequate medicines and ambulance services. Drinking water, sanitation, traffic management, and security arrangements should be given top priority,” Dr. Siri told the officials.

SP Vikrant Patil urged the village committees to maintain a peaceful environment while respecting traditions. He said that more than 100 CCTV cameras and drones would be deployed to ensure tight security measures. “We are setting up a temporary cell-phone tower to maintain uninterrupted communication,” the SP said.

Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj, senior officials from the Revenue, Police, Roads and Buildings, Rural Water Works, Medical and Health, Forest, and Panchayat Raj Departments took part in the meeting.
